Do you take walk-in's?

Yes! Our Denver store is open from 12pm-6pm Wednesday-Saturday. Shop ready-to-wear hats designed by our team.

We suggest booking an appointment if you would like to design your own custom, however our team will do our best to accommodate you based on schedule availability.

Do you make men's hats?

Yes! We make styles for men & women. Our small sizes often fit teens & pre-teens as well!

What sizes do you carry?

At Gem Hats, we use elastic sweatbands to help with fit & comfort. Our hats range from Small-XXL. To learn more, please visit our sizing guide here.(https://www.gemhats.com/sizing-guide-gem-hats) If you are between sizes on our chart, we always suggest going up rather than down.

Yes, you can shop our signature styles online here.(https://www.gemhats.com/shop) If you would like to design your own custom hat virtually, you can book a virtual appointment on our scheduling page and our team will facetime you.

Do you take large groups?

Accepted Answer

Yes! For groups of 6 or less, you can book an appointment directly on our scheduling page. For groups of 7+, please visit our private events page or email us at hello@gemhats.com (hello@gemhats.com)to get a quote for your private party.

Question 6

What is your pricing?

Accepted Answer

We offer an all-inclusive pricing model at Gem Hats, which means there are no surprise fees added when choosing your designs. Custom wool felts & suedes are $225 and custom straws are $175.

Custom pricing includes your selection of 2-3 hat bands, feathers, vintage gems and branding.

Ready-to-wear hats range from $75-$200 depending on the material and design work.

How long does it take to make a custom hat?

Custom hats designed at the Hat Bar are made during your appointment, so you will walk out with your new hat that same day! Appointment length varies by group size, but we generally book 45 minutes-1 hour per custom hat.

Question 8

What types of materials do you use to make your hats?

Accepted Answer

Gem Hats offers 3 main materials: Wool felt, suede and panama straw. We make our own hats and do not offer mainstream brands in store.

Question 9

Do you offer shipping?

Accepted Answer

Yes! We ship domestically for a flat rate of $30.00. We do not ship internationally at this time. 
 
All hats are shipped via USPS priority mail. We insure up to $100.00 on your shipment. If you would like to add additional insurance to your shipment, email hello@gemhats.com. (hello@gemhats.com.)
 
Once your order is shipped, you will receive an email with tracking information.  Gem Hats is not responsible for packages that are lost, stolen or damaged in transit.

Question 10

What is your return/exchange policy?

Accepted Answer

Ready-to-wear Hats:
We accept returns for store credit only. The hat must be returned within 7 business days of receiving it and must not be worn or damaged. Customer is responsible for shipping cost. If there is a major issue with your order, please email us (hello@gemhats.com)and we will accept refunds on a case by case basis. 
 
Custom Hats:
We do not accept returns or exchanges for custom designs. If there is a problem with the size or shape of your hat, contact us and we will do everything possible to fix your gem!

Question 11

I have materials that I would like to incorporate into my custom order. Can I do that?

Accepted Answer

Yes! We love upcycling meaningful materials to design your hat. If you are based in Denver, you can bring your materials with you to your design appointment. If you are outside of Denver, you can ship your materials to our studio.

Here are a few examples of materials that work best for upcycled designs:
 
Vintage belts, ties, ribbons, suspenders, lace, silk scarves, etc. 
Pens & pendants, jewelry, sentimental trinkets, feathers, etc.

Do you do bridal hats?

Yes, we love working on hats for the bride and groom alike! On our custom wedding hats, we often embroider or burn in your special date, your new initials, or anything to resemble your love!

Brides-to-be: Bring your mom's vintage veil to add something special to your hat for your big day.

Grooms-to-be: Bring a special tie, vintage cuffs, or other sentimental items to incorporate into your hat.

Do you offer hat repair services?

Yes! We offer hat shaping, cleaning, stretching, stiffening and trimming services. Visit our scheduling page to learn more!

Question 14

I would like to redesign a hat I already own. Can I bring my own?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we offer a hat styling service for $75. You can book an appointment for this service directly on our scheduling page.
